Conceived in 2020 as the centerpiece of a new six-acre public park for the city of Jeffersontown, this multi-use event space and amphitheater provides an exciting amenity to the surrounding community. Working in conjunction with TSW Landscape Architects, the site was formally an MSD water treatment plant, reclaimed and repurposed with trails, picnic facilities, restrooms, and other passive recreation activities.

The building’s unique combination of materials, and dynamic curvilinear and cantilevered forms, suggest the movement and energy of a musical performance. With a generous 2,400sf stage and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, the theater offers a variety of acts from high school bands and touring musicals to the Louisville Orchestra. The grass audience area can accommodate blanket seating for over 1,500 patrons.

Inside, the 200-person event space can host wedding receptions, corporate seminars, and community gatherings. Complimented by upscale finishes, the space includes a dramatic vaulted ceiling with tall windows that overlook the park landscape.

The forward thinking, contemporary design is intended to attract a new generation of residents to the growing Louisville suburb, and the city hopes the project will become the premier event venue for eastern Jefferson County.
