Located within the Creekside Center is the welcoming and interpretive facility. It too reflects the tobacco barn heritage that is central in the design of The Parklands’ structures. It is sited to imply a linear spatial relationship to the neighboring Gheens Foundation Lodge—with an interpretive prairie garden located in-between.

Large glass windows at the main entrance at the north end of the building encourage visitors to enter, be welcomed and informed. Interpretive displays explain the uniqueness of The Parklands and explain the many things to enjoy there. Classrooms, coatrooms, educational offices, restrooms and storage areas complete the facilities available for school groups and organized interpretive activities.
