Perched atop the Muhammad Ali Garage, this urban plaza creates a landscaped retreat that serves as the main entrance to the Ali Center. The plaza design by EDAW integrates water features, fountains, raised planting beds and a dramatic limestone stepped amphitheater into an assembly space for Center visitors and special events.
The main plaza level accommodates large school groups and a public performance space around the glass-columned fountain, while the upper plaza is surrounded by landscaped beds that provide more intimate gathering spaces. A cascading water runnel connects the upper plaza water fall to the star fountain on the main plaza level. The upper level offers a commanding view of the Ohio River and the Falls beyond.
Bravura’s responsibilities included architectural design and detailing, management of the consultant team, and overall project management.
