Innovatively expanding and renovating an outmoded and well-worn downtown school created a new educational paradigm. Its contemporary style and flair now provides creative energy for a new life as an elementary performing arts magnet school—the first in the JCPS system and the region. A Media Center addition and an Arts Studio addition were added to the renovated existing facility without closing the school.

Open spaces with expansive views of the outside are welcoming and evoke a sense of artistic freedom. The Arts Studio wing provides a student gallery with state-of-the-art dance studios, drama studios, broadcast studio, music rehearsal halls, private practice rooms, and support facilities. A new 180 seat black box theater is a popular venue for student and community arts group performances.
