Joseph & Joseph Architects has a long history working with Four Roses Bourbon Distillery. The oldest portions of the distillery were designed by our firm in 1909. We were honored to have been selected to head up the design team for the brand’s largest expansion in history. The $34 million expansion doubled the production capacity of the facility.

The phased expansion included 25 new fermenters, an additional column still and various other equipment upgrades. The phased expansion process allowed the renovation to occur while keeping the facility in operation during construction. The project provided the company the opportunity to improve operations while maintaining the same production process they have done for decades. The design also improved the tourist experience through the distillery. The design allowed many existing buildings to be upgraded and new buildings to be constructed while keeping with the architecture of the original 1909 distillery building.
